Our service covers natural leather such as cowhide, suede leather and synthetic leather, also called faux leather. We assess the base material, thickness, flexibility, surface condition and intended use before selecting the process. A pattern may look different on different substrates; approval of a trial on the actual material is the basis for the production agreement.
During foiling, a decorative foil layer is transferred onto the prepared surface using heat and pressure in a roller machine. Pattern application and finishing follow the selected sample. Base colour, foil type and surface pattern are considered together; process settings are selected after assessing each material.
The gallery below presents 22 examples of foil effects and patterns on suede. SF codes identify the samples, with similar pattern families grouped together. To enquire about a similar effect on another natural leather or synthetic leather, send the sample code and your material specifications. Final colour and sheen are matched against a physical sample under suitable lighting.
Specify the end use, thickness and flexibility required for your product. The approval sample is assessed for appearance, foil adhesion and flexibility appropriate to the product. Any testing required for an order should reflect its intended use and service conditions.
